EDITOR’S NOTE

Hey Berliners,

This is the longest week of light all year. The solstice lands on Sunday, the day the sun lingers and the city stays golden well past nine.

There is something about this much daylight that asks a question of us. Do we keep going, fill every hour, chase the long evenings down. Or do we let the light hold us still for a moment.

If you find yourself leaning toward stillness this week, I have a few things to share. A hypnosis and sound journey to begin the weekend, a salon to think slowly with strangers, and a Yin and sound practice to close it all on solstice night.

And stay with me to the end this week. In slowdown @Home I am sharing something more personal than usual.

May this longest day find you unhurried.

Happy slowdown,
Tim

PICK 2
Philosophy Salon @SEE OUR VISION

An evening of slow conversation among art. Three short rounds in small groups, reshuffling each time so you keep meeting new people and new perspectives, with prompts drawn from the exhibition on view. No background needed, only curiosity. Drinks and lingering ideas to close.

🕓 When: Sat. Jun 20, 19:00 to 22:00
📍 Where: SEE OUR VISION Gallery (PBerg)

PICK 3
Yin Yoga and Sound, Relax, Release and Recharge @OHIA

Rawad, which I got to know last week at a workshop, pairs Yin yoga with sound for an hour of pure surrender. The slow, passive practice that asks us to soften and turn inward while the nervous system drops into deep rest. All levels welcome. A quiet closing to the longest day.

🕓 When: Sun. Jun 21, 19:30 to 20:30
📍 Where: OHIA (Mitte)

SLOWDOWN @HOME

This week I want to share something dear to my heart, and something very vulnerable.

I wrote a long and honest piece about the ten years I spent trying to improve my way into feeling good enough. I believed in self-improvement so much that I made it my career and became a coach. And I did get better. I built a more beautiful facade. But underneath, I still felt like I was almost always failing.

Here is what I could not see back then. Every hour I spent improving myself quietly confirmed the belief that I was not good enough. That is why none of it worked. What finally started to help was not more effort. It was something else entirely, turning toward the part of me that believed better was the only way to be loved.

If any of this resonates, it might be for you.

Pour a tea, find a soft chair, and let yourself read slowly.
